cleaning the girls room

while the girls are away on their spring break, I have decided its a perfect time to declutter and clear out their room. Which is pretty yucky, I have cleaned out all the laundry that was shoved everywhere and all the dishes- I have no idea- and candy wrappers. we are planning to steam clean the rugs tonight. Gees for a teen and pre-teen so worried how they look that room is pretty scary.

OH well at least it was a project for a rainy afternoon and Adam bless his heart crawled under the abyss called the bed and pulled out all the junk under there, I half expected him to find some sort of living creature, but thankfully no such thing happened.

Well off to clean the windows and get all the make-up and crayon off of the dressers.

you are such a nice mom!! I usually expect my kids to clean their room as I have the rest of the house to clean.

You are so funny about the half expected living creatures... but didn't happen. I feel similar when searching for stuff... golly! the amount of stuff that's under our and their bed.

I'm decluttering my girls' room, too. Only, with their help. Lol.

if i decluttered with help nothing would disappear. the girls are suppose to do this themselves, but, twice I year I get in there and hit it hard, and deep clean everything.

I can so relate to this!!! Why do you think some girls are so messy? My daughter just doesn't care what her room looks like! I was so completely different at that age!! Anyway, about 3 years ago I couldn't figure out what was smelling in her room, FOR DAYS. Finally I checked under her bed and saw the remains of an egg, raw, what??? I asked her why was there a raw egg without the shell under her bed in a bowl. She said she had to blow out an egg and bring it to school for an art project. I asked her why didn't she throw away the egg and she said she DIDN'T THINK TO DO THAT! Can you imagine??? Hey, come to think of it, I never saw the finished art project!!! Enjoyed your post. Hope the rooms are nice and clean!!

I have found a container of empty cake frosting with the spoon under the bed, which drives me crazy, if you are going to eat then eat iont he kitchen, and the whole container , I had to buy another one for a cake we where making, cause I couldn;t find the one I had- now I know why-

Last summer I founda c ontainer full of crickets in the closet- Grace loves bugs- I couldn;t figure out for the longest time why I kept hearing them and couldn;t find them:-) Geesh,

I did a video on my youtube channel freespirithome where I cleaned my 12 year old daughter's room while she was at a birthday party (to bless her). I spoke about how OVERWHELMED I was with the clutter and mess, wanting to give up NUMEROUS times..and here I expect my daughter to clean her room (which she should)..made me realize how she must feel when I tell her to do it. Like you, every now and than I go into my children's room and do a bit of decluttering and some cleaning,,and to just bless them also.
