frog hop

we went on a frog hike on sunday at Marshy Point the local nature preserve, we went to learn about and then look for frogs it was a fun day the kids got wet, and muddy and came home tired, I call that a good day. as you can see by Grace and Adam when they got home.

the path we hiked out on and some of the marsh we hiked through to get to the pond.

Naturalist and friend Missy, she is so sweet and answered all of the kids questions we go to Marshy Point a lot and the naturlists now know us by name. Madeline loves to talk too them and ask lots of questions, they are nice bunch of folks to kow.

dipping for tadpoles, we heard alot of frogs chirping around us,but they where hard to find, peepers are the size of your finger nail and as soon as we got close they got quiet.

Shawn tired and chillaxion with Mommy

we found this turtle- everyone thought he was dead- but he is asleep in his winter hibernation-wish I coudl sleep that well. Very funny and cute

We ventured to the park at Gunpowder and went to the recycled tire playground- we love this , one, if you go in the afternoon you usually have the whole place to yourself. Often deer just wonder acrossthe playground and theres alsoa ground hog who we have seen many times watching the kids, froma distance of course.

And of course Grace- my bug lving girl found the first spider of spring:-)

happy birthday Shawn

Shawn will be two years old tommorow at around 3:30 pm wow where does the time go.

we love you sweetheart

I love Chic Fila'

we went Wednesday night for dinner which is in itself a real treat, we hardly ever eat out and i hardly ever take them in to the play area its usually the drive through and then home.

Anyhow they had a great time, and honestly so did I the fact the place is a faith based company makes me support them before any other fast food chain, the music in the restaurant is distinctively christian- Twila Paris while we where there- . So I don;t have to cringe at whats playing or divert there attention. The staff are actually nice-not pretending to be- and they close on Sunday and honor the Sabbath of our Lord- not many places still do that-.

And i love the prizes in the kids meals we got a word bingo game, which we then played all afternoon yesterday. The prizes are mostly educational- books, games etc.- and something I don;t mind them using and I almost never throw these out.
